With a road map out of lockdown and the news of new bars and cinema are opening all over Manchester, we’re finding it hard to contain our excitement. Now, with the owners of arguably some of the best bars in the city announcing the opening of not one but TWO new bars, we thought it only right to keep you updated with everything we know so far about the Lost Cat and Junior Jackson’s.
The people behind Manchester bar Crazy Pedro’s Pizza Parlour, cocktail experts The Liars Club and Bunny Jacksons’s Juke Joint are preparing to open two new Northern Quarter venues this spring – with one featuring an open-air, rooftop cinema. The two-floor concept will take over the old Eat New York site, with access to the top floor Lost Cat through the florist The Bud & Pot. Where you’ll find an open-air cinema and tanning spot by day and live music hangout by night.
Junior Jackson’s will be a basement bar that’s set to offer up a massive selection of bourbon, American sports, burgers and “the best damn jukebox in town!” With crazy cocktails, live music upstairs and food provided by Triple B, the new New York-inspired burger and bagel brand behind the Eat New York team that previously took residence in the building.
If this isn’t enough, Junior Jackson’s, coined by owners Bunny Jackson’s crazy cousin, will have a private room that you can book out that comes complete with a fridge full of beer.
The brand new speakeasy bar with rooftop cinema is opening on Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter next to The Castle hotel in May and we’re convinced that post lockdown this will be the new hot spot for summer day drinking and cocktail lovers all over the city. Keep an eye out for more updates in the coming weeks and prepare yourself for cinema, sunbathing, late-night drinks, great music and food by spring.
