The Jacksonheim Property Group have signed up to the UK government’s new ‘kickstart’ scheme, in a bid to play their part in the mission to help the employment prospects of 16–24-year-olds.
The Kickstart Scheme is a government initiative which provides funding to employers. This in turn creates job placements for 16 to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long-term unemployment.
The Jacksonheim Property Group intends to create several new and fully subsidised jobs for young people, including a number of roles in social and digital media marketing. These promising young individuals will have the unique opportunity to apply for placements that provide on-the-job training, skills development, and mentoring, not to mention, the Kickstart supported, 1-2-1 careers coaching throughout the programme-to help them start, sustain, and succeed in their new roles.
When asked the reasoning behind the decision to join the scheme, Owner, Corin Craig Jackson said:
“It’s been a testing time for us all since Covid-19 hit our shores, but young people have been disproportionately affected with their employment prospects as a result of the economic downturn.
We are very proud to have been granted the funding to be part of this exciting initiative which will provide young people with the opportunity to kickstart their career while allowing our company to grow simultaneously.
As a new business, we have not previously been able to afford to employ trainees, but this scheme has given us a fantastic chance to develop skills in young people that will develop our business.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new recruits from February 2021.”
