COVID-19 safe things to do in Manchester

Finally, things are getting back to some form of normality. After almost four long months at home it is time to begin to get back out there. Of course, this can seem a bit daunting at first, but whether you fancy a relaxed reunion with some friends or perhaps hosting a dinner party, we’ve put together the perfect guide of things to do!

Number 1: Watch a movie with this retro-inspired drive-in cinema

Missed the cinema? This is the perfect opportunity to get the theatre experience whilst maintaining social distancing rules. Just like you’ve seen in the movies, these incredible drive-in cinemas are running throughout July and August! The sound is played through the car speakers – so no more noisy cinema-goers! You can even put your feet up! Book your tickets here.

Number 2: Escape to Freight Island

Located at Depot Mayfield, expect a brand-new urban market on steroids, this place has it all – outdoor food market, festival takeovers, immersive entertainment and terrace-style seating on one sprawling tact – a long-forgotten freight depot carved from the city’s industrial past. Phase one launches in mid-July 2020 with a limited capacity to 600 people, the rest of the site will be opening in August. Check it out here.

Number 3: Book a staycation

Travelling is not the easiest right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t explore our very own doorstep. Exploring the UK can be fun too, if your struggling for inspiration on where to stay check out Airbnb’s guide to their ‘most wish-listed’ properties – or head over to our Airbnb’s at The Jacksonheim Boutique.

Number 4: Doggy Heaven

An enormous new dog café will be opening in Greater Manchester – Alfie’s Island Café. For dog owners or simply just people who love dogs, everyone is welcomed. The café is set to open sometime this month, and we can’t wait!

Number 5: Head out for socially distanced drinks – at Hatch

Finally, hatch is re-opening! Manchester’s award-winning food, drink and retail destination. Their outdoor social spot is the perfect place to enjoy drinks and incredible food, whilst keeping to socially distancing of course. Its open 7 days a week with over 30 independent traders. Be sure to check it out!

Number 6: Eat out

I bet you are probably bored of your kitchen by now. So, say goodbye to slaving over the stove, and get back out to your favourite restaurants again. Most are beginning to open back up, with special measures and contact free procedures taking place. If you are unsure on whether your favourite restaurant is back open again, you can check it out here.

Number 7: Boozy brunch

All Star Lane’s summer terrace are now serving bottomless brunch for two hours. Savour some mouth-watering food options from an American-themed breakfast menu, whilst enjoying two hours of unlimited drinks of prosecco, mimosa and craft beer. The venue will have hand sanitisers available for all guests! Book your space here.
